Thunar + Compiz-Fusion = Problem with context menu

Hi!

I'm currently testing xfce + compiz-fusion (I love the right-click menu form openbox and some composing features like expose, so I thought this would be the best combination to get both features)

As in openbox I'm using Thunar and the following problem only occurs in combination with compiz-fusion:

When I right-click on blank space in Thunar, the context menu appears normally. However, when I click on an item, such as a folder or file, the context menu appears then immediately disappears. I have to hold down the right mouse button to select anything from the menu and it is picked wehn I leave the right button.

Is there a feature in compiz I have to deactivate or is it another problem?

Thanks

Barghest

You know what?  I hate to dig up a thread from 2008, but I have this same problem right now.  Using the current Aurora theme with XFCE, nothing special.

Re: Thunar + Compiz-Fusion = Problem with context menu

I had that problem only when using the Aurora theme, but using the fix from here (http://zuttobenkyou.wordpress.com/2008/ … or-thunar/) I was able to fix it.

Open up ~/.themes/Aurora/gtk-2.0/gtkrc, and change the GtkMenu::vertical-padding = 0 to GtkMenu::vertical-padding = 1. Now if you right-click on a file or folder in Thunar, the pop-up menu works properly.

(of course, the path of your theme may be different)

Re: Thunar + Compiz-Fusion = Problem with context menu

I was having a similar problem in Eclipse, where every time I right clicked, it would undo any recent text changes (because it was selecting 'Undo' in the popup menu, automatically). I had to create my own theme and set

GtkMenu::vertical-padding = 2

(1 wasn't enough)

Holy double necro-bump.

@artbristol: Please read the guidelines about necro-bumping old threads... It's considered very bad form...

Welcome to the forums, artbristol, and thank you for the contribution.

But, as others told you already, this is a very old thread. Please read our Forum Etiquette and btw. all the Forum Rules.
