Firefox, Conky, Network, all fail at once :(
So I've got an interesting problem, not quite sure how to fix it.
The problem started as soon as I upgraded to the most recent kernel (2.6.26.2-1) and since then, my laptop operates fine for 1-10 minutes. I open firefox, start surfing random pages, and then, firefox freezes, one of the two instances of conky I have running dies, I can't ping out, and my computer hangs during shutdown so I have to yank the battery to get it to turn off. I'm really not sure where the problem lies, it could be networking, it could be a problem with X, it could be a problem with the kernel, all of my other programs are operating fine and not giving me any trouble, just the webbrowser (firefox and opera both), conky, and X. when it happens again I can post the output of ps ajfx so you can get a better idea of what's going on, but I'm not sure how to fix it and I'm pretty frustrated.

check the output of dmesg immediately after it happens and it might be more informative. Alternatively you can also check the logs to see what errors occurred.
