arch nforce2 support

does arch have support for nvidia nforce2 ethernet built in (i believe the module is nvnet)?

our 2.6 kernel has the forcedeth support, i am not sure about the 2.4 .

yeah, i  always use the forcdeth in 2.6 also, but i was having problems booting into that kernel. i tried modprobing nvnet in 2.4, but it didn't work. i knew it could work because i had ethernet in a stock slack10 install with 2.4, but i had long since modified that and i wasn't sure what driver to use (thanks for the non-answer answer, aCoder tongue).

apparently you need to have /dev filesystem support in the kernel or else the console can't start. i finally figured it out and was able to boot into 2.6.7 with forcedeth, but that should be in a faq somewhere!  :shock:

sheesh, my mistake. i went through most of the install doc, but i obviously missed that.  :oops:  thanks for pointing it out.
