vmxnet kernel modual and kernel 2.6

Hello everyone,
I'm having a bit of trouble locating the kernel modual for vmxnet (the VMware virtual network adapter) when I installed via FTP, it autodetected it. Can anyone point me towards the autodetect script or the modual please?

pcnet32

The virtual machine simulates an AMD Lance 10/100 PCI card, which uses the pcnet32 module.

My modprobe.conf contains:

alias eth0 pcnet32

You may want to use hwd to find your hardware, it works quite well.  You can get it from the staging repository.
