Wi-Fi connects no longer - just like that [SOLVED]

Hi,

I've got RTL8187B under ndiswrapper, connect through netcfg. For several months it worked uneventfully. Today I just booted my laptop, and the wireless script failed. The same on reboot. iwconfig wlan0 scan shows the networks as usual; netcfg2 <profile> fails, just like at boot time. I've no clue where to look first. Any ideas?

Fantastic! At least, to my unenlightened taste... smile . Restarted router, things back to normal. What's happened? An explanation, or a link to an explanation, would be deeply appreciated.

That's the first thing I adise people having network-trouble: reset all your SOHO-networking appliances (modem, router, wireless access point, etc.) A lot of those things are IMHO not designed to be running 24/7, or cannot stand that kind of heat.

Zl.

@llama - easy fixes are the best.  I know I have to restart my router every couple of weeks.  Please mark this thread as solved (edit your first post).  That way, others with wi-fi connection problems can find help easily.  Thanks.
