problem with transmission(how to set the listening port?)

I'm using transmission as my bittorrent client in arch but I found it seems to be too slow(I mean the download speed).
In the intranet of my school, the bt speed in windows(uTorrent as client) is usually 5~6Mb/s. When I am using transmission in arch, the same seed only get a speed of 500Kb/s.

It has been trouble me for some time. I think maybe the listening port is wrong because it says "Port is closed" in the preference page.:(

Any help are welcomed!

Re: problem with transmission(how to set the listening port?)

try checking "use UPNP or NAT-PMP..." option in preferences under network tab or try using the same listening port as you use in utorrent client.
