Cant get Wireless to work (WPN311 Network Card)

Hello! I have a Netgear Wireless G Mimo PCI Adapter for my desktop.. But Im having problems getting it to connect to my router.

Here are outputs of files im "guessing" is relevant to my issue (the only program that i KNOW I installed in reguards to wireless is wireless tools)

rc.conf MODULES=( 8139cp 8139too mii slhc ath5k ath_hal ath_pci wlan ac97_bus...)
lspci | grep controller: multi media auto controller.. vga compatible controller.. 2 Ethernet controllers one by Realtek one by Atheros.
ifconfig: eth0 and lo
iwconfig:lo no extensions eth0 no extensions, wmaster0 no extensions
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"" Mode: Managed Channel: 0 Access Point: Not-Associated.. blah blah

For some reason if I do hwdetect --show -net it doesnt spit anything back at me.
I also notice when I boot Arch up.. when its loading modules it says its missing the ath_hal ath_pci and wlan modules.. is that significant?

Thanks in advance

Use either ath5k or ath_pci, not both. Search the forum, this has come up before.

Or you can use ndiswrapper too, if there are not readily available drives for Linux for your card.

Re: Cant get Wireless to work (WPN311 Network Card)

ok.. so I should just use lspci | grep sandisk if its my sandisk drive or hwdetect --show so I can find it to mount it? It doesnt show up in Fstab or Mtab when I plug it in and when I used Damn Small Linux live the drive would show up in fstab with its name like /dev/sda4 so i could mount it.

Not sure if you just made a typo in your post, but you need to use --show-net without a space:

hwdetect --show-net
