Hi,
wicd doesn't connect my wired interface on boot. In it's log it complaints:
2008/10/11 13:22:10 :: No wired connection present, attempting to autoconnectto wireless network
I've tried to add
ifconfig -a > /tmp/ifconfig_output
at the beginning of /etc/rc.d/wicd and eth0 is present in the output.
I've tried to stop wicd, bring eth0 down, then start it again and it connected, so the problem is specific to boot time.
Following the wiki, the network daemon, dhcdbd, networkmonitor, eth0 and eth0 routes are banged out.
I am out of ideas, can you help?

Ok, for everyone else facing the problem, here is the wicd patch:
should go to: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/wicd/wnettools.py

kremso,
My Installation did work before the update, then I had the same problem, but the patch does not work. I Pasted it to wnettools.py and cut the old def, still the same problem. If I connect manually after booting all is fine. Well, exept that my wireless connection has gone to nirvana after the kernel update, but that seems to be another story... Rolling distros are are a real thrill, but that's what were here for, ain't we?
