PHP Doesn't work outside my immediate Apache root

So I just got a new server, and setup apache and php. Afterwords I realized that I'm unable to view any *.php outside my immediate apache root, it just views as a normal .html file. If it's in /srv/http, it works fine, but go any further into the directory tree, like /srv/http/<folder> it stops working.

any ideas guys?

How about posting what you had to do, just in case someone else runs into this issue? Might be helpful to others.
