I know you would probably guess what my aim would be?;)
Running this device on my arch desktop. ^^
If ever I want to use this, I first need to have an xp machine to serve as a host and let it share a connection on my linux machine.
If you could provide me with steps how to run this on Arch it would be helpful for me.

That guide should apply if you install wvdial (in the extra repo). That guy uses UDev, so it should match pretty much perfectly.
Post up if you have any issues. I don't actually own this modem, nor have I ever had to set up a modem on linux, it's just such a simple setup that I can't see any problems.

by the way.. we should be getting networkmanager 0.7 soon - and it's awesome at handling 3g modems
i had a look at it on ubuntu 8.10 and using a dongle was pretty much plug and play. i'm really looking forward to 0.7 on arch!
