Running a Script on Wi-Fi Connect?

I've finally switched my laptop to arch (been on my desktop for ages) and only have one problem. My wi-fi light constantly flashes when connected. I fixed this under ubuntu by following this post. I've done a bit of searching but can't figure out how to replicate this under arch.

Any ideas?

Re: Running a Script on Wi-Fi Connect?

What are you using to connect to your wifi? netcfg? wicd? network-manager-applet?

archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

The gnome network manager unfortunately. Couldn't get wicd to run. However that's what I was using under ubuntu as well. I didn't mention it in my first post but the script works if I run it manually.

This is for iwl* cards? I thought the flashing of led will tell me there is some network traffic.
If it stays on, there is no traffic. To me, the flashing is good feature. In facts in windows it flashes at a faster rate that you eyes can't notice it..

The bug is that it's flashing constantly regardless of traffic. Which is extremely annoying to both me and people sitting next to me in lectures.

netcfg offers this with the POST_UP option.
