Upgraded to Wicd 1.5.4 today, and since a refresh of available networks is awfully slow. Just opening the Wicd client interface takes about 30 seconds or more for it to become active.
Googled around and saw a similar bug for Ubuntu Intrepid. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just ran in a console: it first complains about the murrine theme, but I suppose that is OK. When refreshing, it outputs 'Refreshing' and comes with the essid after 20 seconds.
iwlist scanning is instantaneous...

Should learn to check before I post... Turns out I use a USB device for fixed ethernet since my onboard device kicked the bucket. When the USB device is not plugged in, I suspect wicd sort of times out on it and then continues....
