Gettings files to a place where I can install them with pacman

I'm totally lost I just installed arch linux.  I am trying to install a gui and firefox.  If anyone can get me started I may have missed something in installing I did put all packages that I was allowed in.

I've already tried the wiki and possibly missed something but it got me mostly through but now I can't get a gui or firefox installed
