Can't Make Static IP Work

I've tried changing settings in rc.conf and making sure resolv.conf was set right and even tried netcfg, but I just can't get a static IP to work on this machine.  Whenever I use the gateway setting I get some error about SCIOADDR or something.  (I can get the exact error message if needed.)

Does anyone know right off the bat what is causing this?  I;ve followed the wiki, used netcfg's eth0-static.example and everything.  I'm at a loss!

Re: Can't Make Static IP Work

would be helpful if you post the network part of rc.conf

Make sure your rc.conf has no missing "quotes"....
