SmartLink Modem

Has anybody out there got a smartlink ineternal modem going with kernel 2.6.X ? esp an up to date kernel like 2.6.7 ??.
The patch does not seem to apply very well, and I might need dialup in a couple of weeks. 2.4.X works but we prefer 2.6 over 2.4 any day. TIA
