Core CD won't start

Hi, I just downloaded Arch Linux and was hoping to install it. However, when I run the CD, GRUB starts, I hit enter, everything goes normally... until:
SQUASHFS error: sb_bread ...
or something like that.

I have a Compaq Presario SR1517CL and all md5sums and disk checks passed.

And installing in QEMU works 100% on the same system. So nothing's wrong there.

Give the unofficial 2008.12 install disk a try. It uses kernel 2.6.27 so you might have better luck.
