[SOLVED] awesome 2 and xcompmgr, blinky/broken window

Hello Everyone,

I want to have true transparency support on awesome 2, so I decide to
try out xcompmgr, for example, after issue this command "xcompmgr -c"
or any other option combinations(except xcompmgr -a) will result in
either blinky/broken window or the client windows totally disappear,
including the statusbar, too. so in this situation, it is completely unusable.

Searching on google, it seems there areothers to make xcompmgr
works on awesome 2,  did I miss something, somewhere?
or anybody else had the same situation as me?

sys spec:
nvidia 8600gt with driver 180.18 and dual monitors setup

settings:
xorg:
* extension section, "composite" "enable"
* device section, "renderaccel" "true" and "allowglxwithcomposite" "true"

awesome:
tested both 2.3.4 and 2.3.5

xcompmgr:
tested both 1.1.3 and 1.1.4

Thx a lot.

What exactly do you mean by "blinky/broken windows"?

sorry for the misunderstanding.

finally I found the answer, it is due to incompatibility between conky and xcompmgr,
and it seems, there is still no good solution to this issue.

that solution ain't perfect for me, I have to change own_window_type to override in conkyrc and this time all windows are ok, but the conky will have a shadow border around its own window because at first I use xcompmgr with shadow option enabled. I think the shadow stuff is not very useful on a wm like awesome, so I simply disabled shadows, and then everything looks fine.
