OK so I am trying to help out a friend with a wifi issue unfortunately I have never dealt with wifi so I failed miserably. Here is the scenario There is a Netgear WGT624 hooked up to the cable modem and broadcasting the wifi signal. In the other room there is a Linksys WRT54GS (I don't know the version) that needs to pick up the signal and feed it out the 4 router ports. So I'll start out simple, is this possible? Thanks.

There are 10 types of peaple in the world. Those who know binary and those that don't.

So your clients are wired to the WRT54GS?
Then you need to be able to set the WRT54GS to 'bridge'-mode, but I'm not certain this router is capable of doing that.
Zl.

The WRT54GS Can be used as a bridge, if it is a model that will accept a custom frimware upgrade. See here: http://www.dvrplayground.com/article/12 … et-Bridge/ for info. The guide here uses HyperWRT but if you have a model that will accept a firmware upgrade, there are many custom firmware options to choose from. See this page for info, forums, and general help: http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/index.php
An alternative option:
Is it possible to swap the routers around? The netgear can be used as a bridge. See here: http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101496.asp
There is also a tutorial for the netgear, which requires some tinkering, here: http://www.beatjunkie.de/Router_eng.htm
