Problem with system upgrade [SOLVED]

I issued my daily pacman -Syu update today and here is what I got

 (OK):download completed.
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: nvidia: requires kernel26<2.6.28

Apparently the 2.6.28 was put up in core but my nvidia driver requires an older version and won't let me update it.

Issuing pacman -Si nvidia gives me

Repository     : extra

however, issuing pacman -Qi nvidia, gives me

Name           : nvidia

URL            : http://www.nvidia.com/

So, there's two nvidia packages with different dependencies but the same (180.22-1) version ? Or was my database borked in some way ? I am pretty sure I installed my nvidia driver from the extra repo.

Trying to update just nvidia (pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils), returns this

warning: nvidia-180.22-1 is up to date -- reinstalling
warning: nvidia-utils-180.22-1 is up to date -- reinstalling

:: klibc-udev: requires klibc-088J8A5xVqZqloQrhjNKyTEVhY8

Any way to get around this, cause trying to uninstall my nvidia driver will require uninstalling half -if not all- my DE ?

Update: Worked around it by installing nvidia-beta and nvidia-utils-beta from AUR, pacman -Syu, pacman -Scc, then install nvidia and nvidia-utils from extra.
Still the two different packages with the same version number... that's wrong, isn't ?

Re: Problem with system upgrade [SOLVED]

Greetings fellow Archer

I solved the exact same problem with

IgnorePkg = kernel26

and

 pacman -Syu

Worked like a charm.

Cheers, E5o
