[partially solved] cannot boot into 2.6.28

after upgrading to 2.6.28 i cannot boot into arch anymore.
grub works fine, i do not get a kernel panic, but when "extracting initramfs"
appears, the system reboots without further informations.
i guess there is smth wrong with the new mkinitcpio version and the image generated.
what should i do now?
i' ve tried all the common things like chrooting into system
and making a new kernel image (i'm writing this now from inside a chroot).
any suggestions?

ok, i installed the new mkiniticpio version from testing,
generated a new image and same thing.
what's the problem with the new kernel, mkinitcpio or whatever,
it' s getting annoying.
i'm fighting for two hours now with this stuff....

Re: [partially solved] cannot boot into 2.6.28

it seems to be a kernel issue.
i've reinstalled the 2.6.27 version and every went fine also with the new mkinitcpio.
did some module names changed or similar?
though my mkinitcpio.conf hooks and modules look now like:
MODULES="pata_acpi pata_atiixp ata_generic scsi_mod ahci ext3 ext2"
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
pretty standard.

Re: [partially solved] cannot boot into 2.6.28

it seems to be a bug in the new kernel - same problem as here: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=63111
now i switched to an old ps2 mouse and it seems to boot/work again.
however annoying.
