[solved] Samsung nc10 panic after install

Hi,
I just installed Arch with archlinux-2008.06-ftp-i686.img from a USB stick.
The Install stopps at the last question on "Configure System" it doesnt matter if I choose yes or no.
The cursor blinks on the lower left side. I have to push ctrl+c and run /arch/setup again to do the last step of the installation.

My disc:

sda1 - recovery stuff
sda2 - windows
sda3 - arch
sda4 - swap

Grub is installed on "sda".

Grub entry for arch:

# Arch
title Arch
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda3 ro
initrd /boot/kernel26.img

The kernel stops loading with:

List of all partitions:
No Filesystem could mount root, tried:
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

I checked the /etc/fstab the file is ok.
It doesn't boot regardless if I use UUID stuff or the right path "/dev/sda3".

BTW: Windows boots without a problem.

Re: [solved] Samsung nc10 panic after install

I installed using tpowa's archboot iso (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=60385) using ftp install -- it has more recent versions of packages, so it's possible to get the wifi working right away (using ath5k module).  I did use "acpi=off" boot option for the installer as per wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Samsung_NC10).  I didn't have any problems that way.

works thank you!!! big_smile

I just had to wait a few seconds without interaction....:/
