the line 'Received bad configure-rej: 02 06 00 00 00 00 03 02 07 02 08 02' seems to be where things go wrong. I can connect using pptpsetup and pon/poff; Anybody have any ideas about the networkmanager plugin?

where do you disable EAP at? I didn't see anything about it in the advanced window

Hello wizzard,
I had the same problem and googling I found your post. I fixed this problem by changing the /etc/ppp/options file. You just need to change the "auth" option to "noauth". I noticed this by looking at Ubuntu configuration.
Hope this helps.
