[SOLVED]Root has sound whereas a normal user doesn't

The title says all.
I'm using KDE 4.2, when I startx in root, KDE's phonon recognizes my on board sound card and I get sound but when I startx with a normal user, phonon alerts me that sound backend doesn't work.

It looks like a permission problem but I couldn't find anything on forums and wiki

Thanks in advance

Have you added yourself to the audio group?

Re: [SOLVED]Root has sound whereas a normal user doesn't

oops, that's it! thank you.

now that I found what these groups mean in wiki, I enabled some of them

disk
lp
wheel
uucp
log
games
video
audio
optical
floppy
storage
scanner
power
camera

The new problem is eventhough I enabled all of these, root can auto mount USB flash disks but the user can't...
any ideas?

thanks

Better to start a new thread for a new problem...
