Uninstalling b43 (didn't need to) [SOLVED]

How would I go about getting rid of the b43 driver b43-fwcutter and all the proprietary drivers being used. I reinstalled arch (exact same version) and followed the wiki for using the b43-fwcutter exactly and it did not work (No such device) despite working the first time I did it (???).

Also if you think that this can be solved a different way here is some info on my problem.
The output for iwconfig

eth1 IEEE 802.11b/g ESSID:off/any Nickname:"Broadcom 4318"
          Mode:Managed Access Point: Invalid
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
Link Quality=0/100 Signal level=0 dBm Noise level=0 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

output for iwlist scan

eth1 Interface doesn't support scanning : No such device

output for ifconfig eth1 up

SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory

The last time I did this the device was listed as wlan0 so I'm pretty sure that something is messed up with the driver and hence, why I want to purge it and reinstall.

Re: Uninstalling b43 (didn't need to) [SOLVED]

b43 is provided by the kernel, so you can reinstall it by reinstalling the kernel. If you are using b43, no proprietary drivers are required. b43-fwcutter is a separate package, which can be removed and reinstalled by pacman in the usual way. If you wish to delete the firmware, it's in /lib/firmware.

I've already tried deleting the firmware and removed the b43-fwcutter using the methods described but I still get the same problem.
Is it significant that bcm43xx is still listed in various places in the output of lsmod?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

bcm43xx is obsolete, which means your system is not up to date. Update it, and try b43 again.
