[Solve]Trouble: Enter runlevel: _

Yes, Yesterday I install arch, when I update and I reboot this morning, instead of login. I see:

Enter runlevel: _

There is no more consoles in f2,f3,f4 etc...

When I insert a number (3)

INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

So I reinstall arch, and...

It happens another. I don't know what is runlevel, what the numbers means. I only want to login as root and finish the begginers guide!!.

Where is the problem?[Solve]

How far did you reach into the install process before this happened?

You mention you updated after the install and then you rebooted the next morning ....does that mean that everything worked the  day before?

Indeed, and what did you update? Did you use a Core CD? Did you run into / fix any of the hiccups in package management that have occured since them (klibc bug)? Does the fallback boot option work (doubt it)?

/var/log/pacman.log (Use a rescue CD or something)

My guess is that this might be the empty-config-files bug... which would make sense... see if configs in /etc (like /etc/inittab) are empty or not.

Adding on to Ranguvar's questions...what method do you use to login?

startx/xinit?
gdm or some other gui display manager?

I Install and configure alsa, I don't install xorg, but I install yaourt and sudo. Also I configure sudo. I create another no-root login, like the wiki says.

Yes, after reboot, I can use elinks, alsa, pacman, yaourt etc... but when i reboot. I can't login.

Indeed, and what did you update? Did you use a Core CD?

I install arch linux from CD, and later I try to update.

Did you run into / fix any of the hiccups in package management that have occured since them (klibc bug)?

I don't understand, but I think that I don't do anything what you say.

Does the fallback boot option work (doubt it)?

No, it has the same problem.

/var/log/pacman.log (Use a rescue CD or something)

My guess is that this might be the empty-config-files bug... which would make sense... see if configs in /etc (like /etc/inittab) are empty or not.

Ok, how i Use the installation cd like a rescue cd? and another, How can i copy the log of pacman in a 3*1/2 diskket in order to see with the other computer?

Adding on to Ranguvar's questions...what method do you use to login?

startx/xinit?
gdm or some other gui display manager?

I don't finish the wiki, I used the normal login manager. When the console question:
Login: {root}
Password: {********}
And you enter in the bash.

But I wanna to use a script or a bashrc in order to not use any desktop manager.

Re: [Solve]Trouble: Enter runlevel: _

And the problem is that I install a program, pacman tells me that I have to unistall Udev, and...

So, Don't unistall udev.

Solved.
