NEED HELP ! Configuration errors -> Fail

I get this when trying to configure the boot loader:

arch hook base can not be found
-> Fail

This happens when compiling GRUB.  I   have an x86 processor and got the i686 iso right from the website.  I have xp installed already.

Please help I am so mad.
