Gnome Shutdown Issue

Hello,

For some reason when I shutdown in Gnome it doesn't switch to the screen showing the shutdown process anymore, it just hangs at the wallpaper and shuts down in the background.  I presume this is related to me experimenting with different DE's as of late and editing /etc/inittab.  How can this be rectified?

Thanks.

If you think this is related to you changing the inittab, post the inittab here so ppl can have a look.
