dhcdbd no longer available.

Howdy,
I've noticed that the package dhcdbd is no longer available in the repo's.
Is this something I should leave installed or should I remove it?

I know there was a recent upgrade to network-manager, has this effectively taken over what dhcdbd did?

Yeah, I've noticed the same. Addionally, if I install GNOME-Network-Manager alone, it doesn't work not until I install dhclient manually. Looks like dhclient isn't a dependency anymore. Formerly, dhclient would install dhcdbd also, but as for now, I cannot find it in the repositories.

Network-Manager works fine without dhcdbd, but I had to manually install dhclient to get it to work.

dhcdbd is deprecated by dhcpcd in the latest networkmanager. You should be able to safely remove the former.

Hi there...

After removing dhcdbd it appears the following message at boot:

/etc/rc.d/functions: line 192: /etc/rc.d/dhcdbd: no such file or directory

I am sure someone knows how to remove this message at boot. Any advise?

Did you remove dhcdbd from your DAEMONS array in rc.conf?
