cisco-vpnclient

I have installed the cisco-vpnclient from aur after changing the kernel version in the PKGBUILD and install files but not matter what I do I can't load the cisco_ipsec module.
It is definitely there but when i modprobe it or put it in the MODULES() array, it says it is not found.

Has anyone had this problem before? Before anyone asks, yes I do need the Cisco client

Re: cisco-vpnclient

Run depmod and try again. The package's post-install script should have done that, but it may be broken.

Re: cisco-vpnclient

Just tested this one. The module cisco_ipsec can not be found even after running depmod.

Re: cisco-vpnclient

Hmm, I have my own PKGBUILD for cisco, everything is fine for me at least...
Perhaps Your kernel version is wrong, change kernel version to right one in cisco-vpnclient.sh file.

Thanks that worked!

Now the profile I've been using in Windows doesn't seem to work...

Re: cisco-vpnclient

Is there a particular reason for using the cisco client rather than vpnc? I've never had any problems with vpnc connecting to either a Cisco VPN Concentrator or to a Cisco ASA using IPSec. To use the ASA with SSL I the Cisco AnyConnect client. It's a weird but it works. I'd like to see if I can get the OpenVPN client working with the ASA, although I doubt it's possible.

Because I have a profile that I use under the Windows Cisco client and the group password is preset and I don't know what it is. I'm hoping I can use that profile but it doesn't seem to be working.

**Never mind. It does work. I needed to put the profiles in the correct folder.

While I'm not the OP, I also use the official Cisco client. I need certificate-based auth, which no free client (that I know of) supports.

Re: cisco-vpnclient

Sorry to bump old post but I ended up using vpnc. Authenticates fine and is much easier to use than the cisco client

Re: cisco-vpnclient

I just want to add a link to a site on that you can decode the group password given in the profile.

http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/bin/cisco-decode

Since someone directed me to this site a long time ago I'm using vpnc, too
