I'm trying to connect to my school's wireless using Arch Linux. It works fine under windows with the following settings:
Connect even when this network is not broadcasting: Checked
Network Authentication: WPA
Data encryption: TKIP
EAP type: PEAP
Validate server certificate: unchecked
EAP-MSCHAP v2
Enable Fast Reconnect: checked
Enable Quarantine Checks: unchecked
Disconnect if server does not present crytobinding TLV: unchecked
Authenticate as computer when computer info is available: checked
Authenticate as guest: unchecked
Connect when network is in range: check
it prompts for username and password and I enter EMP\myusernamehere. My username is on the domain. With linux would I enter a "/" or "\".
Would I use wpa-supplicant to do this? I'm trying to use wicd, but I'm failing on multiple attempts.

You would indeed . Wpa_supplicant should be able to handle PEAP.
I'd recommend trying with and without the hidden SSID, it often gives problems on Linux.

Hi!
If you have problems with wicd and hidden SSID, you can try to set up the connection manually before wicd is running (=> wiki) - after I did that once, the connection has been saved and was working without any problems ever since.
There's another solution in the wiki (and instruction how to manually connect).
Good luck!

I cannot find this info on the wiki, nor does google provide much information. Is there not a tutorial somewhere?
