Taking screenshots

Using gnome...

alt+print screen takes the current window, the gnome app under accessories, Take Screen shot, the 3rd option is to take a selected area, the above two are the Print Screen(entire screen), and the alt- print screen(current window) options, there HAS to be a shortcut for the selection window one?  If the first two are built into gnome the third has to be

even if there isn't one, you can always create a keybinding, couldn't you?

taking screenshots was always a pain, especially for those light weight desktops. I'm glad gnome is doing something right for once. Now to find out if lxde has same support.

in kde I used the "default input actions" to set the prt-screen key to use the ksnapshot..

maybe you can do something like this to your GNOME. (in ubuntu, it's automatic - maybe you should search for the program)
