netcfg problems

I read all the netcfg threads that I could find, the wiki, and I must be missing or forgeting something. I was using netcfg fine before I installed wicd. Wicd is working fine, but I found netcfgGUI so I wanted to go back to netcfg since all I was missing was a gui. No onto my problem. Now when I call netcfg I get:

DHCP IP lease attempt failed

I never use to get that. I tried a number of quirks and other things but still was working. Now if I

/etc/rc.d/wicd start

then

/etc/rc.d/wicd stop

and then run netcfg it works fine.

I know that I am missing something, but I am not sure what.

I am running Arch64 with intel 4965. As I said before I never needed to do anything different before I installed wicd, no pre_up or quirks or anything.

Thanks

Re: netcfg problems

I am assuming that the wicd daemon is calling something? I am not sure though because it working fine before.

##EDIT##
is the config file for the profiles case sensative?

Re: netcfg problems

wicd has a GUI, wicd-client. You should find it under "Networking" on the start menu
