I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I tried running pacman -Syuv this morning, and I get this error:
Proceed with installation? [Y/n]
checking package integrity...
(56/56) checking for file conflicts [############################################################################################] 100%
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
xorg-server: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri.so exists in filesystem
xorg-server: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
I'm assuming I need to remove those files, but should they be permanently deleted, or should I move them temporarily and replace them after the install is done? Thanks for any help you can give me!

It is always safer to make backups, just in case something goes wrong during upgrade.
You can make backups of the file. Delete those files. Upgrade. Check if everything works. If it does, remove the backups or let them remain there.

Thanks. I don't know why I didn't see that forum post earlier. Worked like a charm!
