With the new xorg, following the Beginners Guide instructions leads to confusion when trying to autogenerate xorg.conf file. There is no more /usr/bin/xorgcfg nor /usr/bin/xorgconfig scripts and hdw does not detect xserver when xorg 1.6.1 is installed.
There's nothing about starting X without any xorg.conf file in the BG.
And, what is the most important, setting up non-us keyboard without xorg.conf is not exactly easy for a beginner.
I could write what worked for me, but I'm not sure it all is correct and the best way.

Add it in, and as errors are found, it can be corrected... Better to have something 99% than 95%
