WebDAV and symlinks ? [solved already]

Once upon a time I had WebDAV configured, now after new hardware and system install I'm slowly getting everything running again. Or not.

How I did it i the first time I have no idea, but I had home directories shared via WebDAV. It now appears as if symlinks are not supported,
yet I'm confused about the option "FollowSymLinks".

I've followed the wiki but what I'm unsure of is that in the WebDAV authentication <Location> is used
and in the Simple WebDav Setup <Directory> is used.

My entire home dir is 755. Ive tried adding the line Alias /uploads /home/me/uploads which obviously doesn't help.

I'm hoping someone knows if and how I can link to my home directory.
