Hi,
it seems like the GNOME page is outdated. At least there is no "gnome" package in the repos any more and therefore there is no obvious way to install the GNOME desktop environment.
It would be cool if the GNOME users out there could update the article.

like u_no_hu said there is are groups called gnome and gnome-extra. to see all the packages in those groups:
pacman -Sg gnome
pacman -Sg gnome-extra
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Hello, pacman -Ss gnome will list all the gnome application. The wiki is fine. There is no problem is installing gnome. If any specfic problem with gnome you are welcome to post that one

How do you come to that conclusion?
As others have said, there's a meta-package for Gnome that installs all the individual packages that make up the Gnome DE. `pacman -Sy gnome` should work fine, and if it doesn't then something else is causing you problems
