it's strange:
i use this mirror ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.arch … os/x86_64/ and everything worked fine so far.
but now following happens:
i ran
# pacman -Syy

pidgin is not on the list (and yes, i have pidgin version 2.5.6 installed), though as one can see here ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.arch … pkg.tar.gz the latest version of pidgin is on this mirror.
what can possibly cause this?
vlad
PS: please delete this post. i put (i don't know why) the pidgin package in my own local repo. /me full of shame.
sorry for the noise...

I guess you have an older pidgin in local_repo. -Su analyses the first found sync pidgin only.
Edit: Hm, I didn't see that "[solved]" tag. But at least I was right. ;-)
