wicd and zombie dhcpcd

Hi!

Since I updated wicd to 1.6.0, anytime I disconnect frmm a wireless network to another one, the dhcpcd zombie process appears...

Any idea??

Thanks in advance smile

Re: wicd and zombie dhcpcd

I think that has something to do with the autoconnect stuff in wicd. On my system I get no ethernet connection when I plug in a cable, unless I've connected before with wicd and dhcpcd is already running in the background. It just seems to difficult to fix that bug upstream yikes

Re: wicd and zombie dhcpcd

Thanks for your response big_smile

If you run:

sudo /etc/rc.d/wicd restart

It kills the zombie dhcpcd.
Not the best solution, but it's a faster way to get rid of that zombie process than rebooting hmm
If you have that zombie process it's because you've lost connection and reconnected again, so reconnecting once more by restarting wicd shouldn't be painful... tongue

Re: wicd and zombie dhcpcd

Just found this dhcpcd zombie process and Google it.
It might be related to this wicd bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/wicd/+bug/206960
