Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

Hmm maybe it's driver problem.
I will try xf86-input-mouse-git from AUR smile
Someone tested it?

Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

I use an USB mouse, but it isn't configured in xorg.conf.
Check if you have hal and xf86-input-evdev installed, then start hal and after it X. The mouse should work without the need to set anything manually.

Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

Did you start hal daemon? Or turn off input hotplugging:

Section "ServerFlags"
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"
EndSection

Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

You get freeze cause you didn't start hal before starting X (I had simillar problem). I wrote an example of turning off hotplugging smile Or maybe your user aren't in the hal and dbus groups?

Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

Using MS IntelliEye usb mouse(with 2 buttons and wheel) my /etc/X11/xorg.conf Section "InputDevice"
    #generated from default
    Identifier  "Mouse0"
    Driver      "mouse"
    Option     "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
    Option     "Device"  "/dev/input/mice"
    Option     "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
    Option     "ZAxisMapping"  "4 5"
    Option     "Buttons" "5"
Hope that helps. Note that is mouse zero.:)

Re: [Solved] USB mouse and Xorg problem.

It might help to examine /var/log/Xorg.0.log for messages concerning the mouse or any errors.  Try

    grep -in "mouse" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    grep -n "(EE)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
