[Solved] D-Link (dwl-g122) - No wlan0 in ifconfig

Hello Archlinux user Community!
I have a tricky problem with my portable wireless adapter, that is D-Link, dwl-g122.
I am using wireless to install my OS and everything runs fine in a live mod while installing the system, but when I restart the computer I have no wlan0 connection. I suppose that the problem is that I have to load some modules on my system, that are automatically started in live version.

Any suggestions? =/

You can try to compare the output of lsmod from the livecd and the installed system and try to figure out what is missing.

I guess removing the adapter and inserting it again should trigger the insertion of the right module.

Thank you R00KIE! I've already compared lsmod output from liveCD and local installation, but did not found out nothing... I'll try to remove an adapter to see the difference. I'm not sure but it seems that there's some incompatibility between a driver, that is rt2x00, and a new kernel...

Re: [Solved] D-Link (dwl-g122) - No wlan0 in ifconfig

Did you install the firmware for that?
Do a 'pacman -Ss rt2x00' and you will see that there are 2 firmware packages you can install.
Also I believe that probably you want to modprobe rt2x00usb.

Boot your local install without the adapter plugged in, then plug it in and check the output of dmesg and check for any errors or warning related with the adapter driver, I guess it will be easy to figure out the rest after that.
