Hello,
I'm using wicd to connect to the internet.
It usually works but there are problems to connect wirelessly, from time to time . The connexion works when using ethernet.
The password I write to connect to my wifi-network (protected by WPA, using TKIP encryption), which is hidden, is said to be incorrect.
As a matter of fact, I'm sure the password is correct (I've tested it with another computer).
The router is a G604T_WIRELESS.
Have you got any idea to help me ?

Hello ren0!
Does it work with open connection ? Can you get IP address when it's successfull? Did you try it with networkmanager, or from commandline ? Which chispet/driver/kernel do you use ?

It works with open connection.
I tested it with another networks, using WPA as well and it works perfectly !
I tried NM and the commandline way, but they failed too, of course, only with the Dlink G604T_WIRELESS, otherwise, it works !
The driver is a iwl3945 (I spécified to the kernel that is must be charged at the boot by editing MODULE=() in the rc.conf).
My chipset is an intel 3945 !
My kernel is the lastest, i.e., 2.6.30
EDIT: all the results given here come from my memory (cause I can't boot Arch immediately). I'm sure they are correct, but forgive me is there is a syntax error in the denomination of the kernel or the chipset ^^

The conclusion is the wpa can't work only this network around you?
Can you try it with other pc, other distribution, or from livecd ?

Using gentoo or ubuntu, it works perfectly on this network
I must precise that Arch works with other networks, only this one fails...

Hi ren0!
I just smashed my D-LINK DSL-G604T today. My wireless connection worked from time to time here, but it's not Arch.

It usually works with other OS, but not with Arch
I can't smash my router, it's not mine ^^

Could you try it with a fresh archlinux minimal install? It takes just 10 minutes from usb maximum.
Or could you try it on another pc, with arch on it?

Bear in mind that wicd is not very good with hidden networks and there is an open bug report to fix it:

For freedom is the man that will turn the world upside down.

To djszapi : already tried ! Does not work with wicd...
To loafer : there's no matter i change the network settings to make the network hidden no more
EDIT : the network is hidden no more, and guess what ? The connection works perfectly
This problem is now solved !
