Installing under VMware Server - Can't even boot ISO

So for work we have a shiny new VM server to start virtualizing some of our physical machines. I've been told we're using VMware Server, given a login and told to figure it out roll

Anyway, I've got VMware going, bridged networking and everything, Ubuntu Server installs fine (I only installed it as a test because Arch won't!)

When I try to install Arch, the ISO boots to GRUB, and I can boot from there, but as soon as init gets to "Booting kernel" it hangs and does nothing else.

I've read the wiki article, but all that says is that Arch installs under VMware without problems -- unless you're me apparently.

Any ideas what I can do to try and get Arch to boot here?

(Will post a screenshot shortly)

Screnshot of where the installer stops...

Forgot to mention this happens with both the 2009.02 core and 2009.08 netinst ISO images.

Re: Installing under VMware Server - Can't even boot ISO

After spending the afternoon on this, it appears to be a bug in the version of vmware I'm running that fsck's up when frame buffer tries to load. I'm going to try updating to the latest version and see if that helps.
