Need help backing out php 5.3

I read the news item and believe I updated the module path properly but every one of my web sites is now down.

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1+ using old authentication [2000]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

php5.3 does not support 16 byte authentication.

I've never backed out a package before, much less a package like this that split some functionality into multiple modules.  I would appreciate some help.

I'm guessing:

pacman -R php-apache
pacman -R php

... then how do I install the previous version of php?

Re: Need help backing out php 5.3

have you checked your pacman cache? (/var/cache/pacman/pkg/)

We also have project ARM: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=53665

You may also want to check the pacman manpages for a nore extensive removal option such as pacman -Rns, though this is optional.
