Integrating netcfg with guessnet

Hi all,

I'm using mostly a laptop that I bring around and connect to a set of networks with mixed media types (only wireless, wireless and ethernet, only ethernet). I was thinking of integrating guessnet with netcfg and netprofiles: guessnet should work very well to test and choose a network profile which will be then loaded with netcfg.

My goal should be pretty simple: netprofiles hierarchy should be provided by an array in rc.conf, thought an initscript should check with guessnet each network profile and activate the first valid one in the array. Tests for each connections should be provided in the network profile file (as, say, GUESSNET_TEST and so on).

I've seen there is already net-auto, but that seems wireless-only oriented to me. Does someone have some interest on this? Do you have some sort of hints/ideas on how to implement this or already did that?

Thanks to all, cheers,
