vncviewer without the option "-via"?

Hi, I'm new in Archlinux (I'm from Debian) recently I install vnc, but I can't find the "-via" option.

For now, I use the extra/tightvnc package, but it is to slow for me.

Is there any way to enable the option "-via" to RealVNC?

Thanks in advance.

Re: vncviewer without the option "-via"?

Aren't you mixing up vnc and vncviewer? vncviewer has the option compiled in. B.t.w.  I once used this to connect vncviewer that wasn't compiled with the 'via' option, to tightvnc tunneled over ssh. I think this method works with other vnc solutions (server or client) too.

computer I was connecting to (ip 172.19.3.2)

vncserver :20 -depth 16 -geometry 1280x1024

computer  I was connecting from:

ssh -fCNT myusername@172.19.3.2 -L 5902:127.0.0.1:5920
vncviewer 127.0.0.1:2
