New install, cant't get usb0 interface to work.

Hi, all.

I'm writing this on my G1 'phone because I can't browse from my PC.

I've got a USB connection to my hub and I can't activate it. I want dhcp and think my inerface should be called usb0.

I looked at the wiki, but can't use hwdetect, because it doesn't seem to be installed. Not sure which module I should be looking for.

Can anyone help with my config....please?

Cheers,

Chris.

Re: New install, cant't get usb0 interface to work.

modprobe usbnet

If it's already loaded (check with 'lsmod|grep usbnet'), then it might just be that the device is unsupported. Check your dmesg. But even if you google for usbnet, you'll get a lot of information that might help you more.

Re: New install, cant't get usb0 interface to work.

Mcover,

Thanks for your help.  I think I saw usbnet listed, but will check when I get home. I haven't got my rc.conf with me, but I think it basically said:

usb0=dhcp

gateway='my router's IP address'
ROUTE=(!gateway)

As I say, this is from memory and I can't be 100% sure.

Cheers,

Chris.
