//sorry for my English
All time I've used arch, there is problem with brightness manage: it works only after update kernel, after second boot brightness want work and in log i see:
Oct 29 17:17:59 acerAspire kernel: ACPI: Failed to switch the brightness
after all trying to change brightness.
I try to use acpi_backlight=vendor and it doesn't help me.
As I see, it's strange problem, because of after update kernel, all work fines. But after second boot there are problems....
Also, i update Bios and it "repair" my fan ( http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=82703 ).

hello all!
I have a similar problem with a similar machine.
I use an acer aspire 5738-6922 (T6400, 3GB ram, 4500MHD, centrino).
My brightness control works on gnome and windows, but not on KDE, KDEMod. I find the same messages on the log.
Any clues?
