I've set up DD Wrt on a linksys 54 I had laying around. My landlord provides wireless for the house but I want to set up the bridge to connect a desktop in my room and learn some practical networking. I've configured the linksys and a windows machine such that I can access the internet on it but my Arch laptop cannot reach the internet when connected to the linksys. I can manually set a valid ip and ping everything on the local network including the gateway address but nothing in the WWW.
[windows] <ethernet>
[arch ] <ethernet> {Linksys} <wireless> {cable modem} <WWW>
All machines are on the same 192.168.0.0 subnet.
I've repeated these http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged instructions a few times and tried manually setting /etc/resolv.conf and the default gateway for eth0 with no success. I'm sure this could be as simple as starting from scratch configuring everything starting at the modem but I don't have access to it.
Has anyone dealt with client bridging/ddwrt/etc and might have some insight.
Should I post rc/resolv/anything else
Thanks for any help.
