Internet connection problem with pppoe-setup

Did pppoe-setup and pppoe-start, it's connected, but if i do ping www.google.com ,doesn't work.
If i do ifconfig i see ppp0 at bottom with ip address.

Re: Internet connection problem with pppoe-setup

For my sis900 eth0 card(connected to dsl modem) I had to add sis900 and mii to module line and adsl to Daemons entry in /etc/rc.conf when I had same problem.  Though now udev/hal are supposed to pickup the modules. Your situation may differ.  Good luck.

Is /etc/resolv.conf pointing to the correct DNS servers?

Re: Internet connection problem with pppoe-setup

Try pinging an ip adress like 4.2.2.2. If that works then it's a problem with the DNS servers of your ISP. In that case, you can use the DNS servers from OpenDNS in your and putting them in your resolv.conf. Otherwise, tyr typing 'route' in a console to see if the default gateway really goes through the ppp0 interface
