gdm userlist is empty

OK, well this is driving me nuts...

I ran -Syu this morning and it completely borked my X config with nvidia drivers. I managed to get gdm working again by downgrading some xorg packages and policykit packages and changing to the nouveau drivers (with early-mode KMS - nice big_smile) however gdm refuses to list any usernames.

I just get the login greeter and the list box is about 3 pixels high.

- Custom kernel26-zen and standard kernel26 same issue
- I've tried adding "Browser-true" to the [greeter] section of /etc/gdm/custom.conf
- All other Googling seems wants me to run gdm-setup to select a custom theme. Not really an option when a) I can't login and b) gdm-setup is gone in 2.28 I believe.

Any ideas folks? I can't login to my desktop sad

Re: gdm userlist is empty

OK, well I can manually enter my username and password now.... But now when I login, Gnome barfs at all the panel apps. You know, the unimportant ones like workspace switch, notification area and application switcher hmm

Any ideas folks?
